Speaking on a recent episode of the Here We Go podcast, Fabrizio Romano discussed the possibility of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer being dismissed from his post as Manchester United manager following the Red Devils’ underwhelming start to the season.

The Norwegian’s side have lost two of their opening three Premier League fixtures, including both of their two home matches to date, the latest of which was last Sunday’s humiliating humbling at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur.

How well do you remember the action from the opening weekend of the Premier League? - 1. Who scored the first goal of the season?

Following Spurs’ 6-1 thrashing of the Red Devils last weekend, pressure is said to be mounting on the current United manager, with suggestions that his job is ‘under review’, according to Ian McGarry (as per the Daily Express).

However, Romano appeared to pour cold water on these claims during a recent episode of the Here We Go podcast, with the journalist claiming that he has not heard anything about United potentially sacking Solskjaer.

He said: “I see many rumours about Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. I have to say that, in this moment, I have no confirmation about the possibility of Solskjaer leaving Manchester United.

“They are giving him time. Obviously, they had a terrible [result against] Tottenham, but, at the moment, he’s not at risk.”

TIF Thoughts…

From Romano’s comments, it is clear that the journalist is of the belief that, at present, Solskjaer is not at risk of the sack at United, and thus, it is very much business as usual for the beleaguered boss despite their lacklustre start to the 2020/21 campaign.

Whether this is good or bad news for fans of the club all comes down to personal preference regarding Solskjaer, however, if Romano is to be believed, whatever the fans feel, Ole will remain at the wheel for a little while longer yet.
