Speaking recently on the Football Writers Podcast, Jordan Jarrett-Bryan stated his belief that Manchester City should do all they can to sign Tottenham Hotspur centre-forward, Harry Kane.

Since making his debut for Spurs as an 18-year-old back in 2011, Kane has gone on to become an integral part of the Tottenham side, featuring 296 times for the Lilywhites, scoring a remarkable 198 goals and providing 38 assists along the way.

Man City fan? We bet you can't get 100% on this Kevin De Bruyne quiz. We'll start you off with an easy one. From which team did Kevin De Bruyne join City?

The £108 million-rated 27-year-old has twice won the Premier League Golden Boot, as well as the 2018 World Cup Golden Boot, and ranks 11th in the all-time Premier League top goalscorers table.

The England captain has once again impressed for Spurs this season, scoring five goals and providing seven assists over his five Premier League appearances, averaging a WhoScored match rating of 8.65 – ranking him not only as Tottenham’s best performer in the league, but also the best in the Premier League as a whole thus far.

And, the striker was one subject of conversation on a recent episode of the Football Writers Podcast, in which Jarrett-Bryan stated his belief that Pep Guardiola should do all he can to bring Kane to the Etihad Stadium next summer.

He said: “Personally, if I’m Manchester City, I’m eyeing up Harry Kane – I’m eyeing up Harry Kane for next summer. It will cost you, of course it will, but I think you can get another five, six [or] seven years out of Harry Kane at his best.

“I don’t see Spurs winning anything this season, domestically or in Europe. So I would be looking to do a deal early to get him out of Spurs.”

Do you think Harry Kane would be a suitable replacement for Sergio Aguero?

TIF Thoughts on Jordan Jarrett-Bryan’s comments regarding Harry Kane…

From Jarrett-Bryan’s comments, it is clear that the journalist is of the belief that Manchester City should be trying their hardest to get a deal done for Kane, regardless of how much the potential transfer would cost, as he believes the striker has five to seven years remaining at the top of his game.

And, with the contract of Sergio Aguero, who, coincidentally, is the only active player in the league above Kane in the all-time Premier League top goalscorers table, set to expire next summer, the argument could well be made that City should be turning their attention to finding a long term replacement for the 32-year-old Argentine.
