Liverpool journalist Paul Gorst has been discussing Reds winger Harry Wilson and his current situation at the Merseyside club.

This comes after Gorst recently made an appearance on the Liverpool Echo’s Blood Red Podcast where he spoke about the latest news topics concerning Jurgen Klopp’s side.

First up in this Steven Gerrard quiz, how old is the former Liverpool man?

On the subject of Wilson, who has been linked with a move away from Liverpool in recent weeks, Gorst had this to say on the situation.

He said: “Burnley stepped away from their discussions after Liverpool wanted too much money for him, but it doesn’t serve Harry Wilson any good sitting in the U23s until January, he’s going to be clearly several levels above that.

“I think it suits everyone for him to look for a loan move. The most recent update I had on that was Liverpool were going to speak to him when he gets back from Wales and see what the lay of the land is, but I don’t see any other outcome than him finding a short-term home for this season.

“I mean, if he’s available to Championship clubs, then there’s going to be plenty of takers because he’s just come off a good season in the Premier League with Bournemouth and he’s a Liverpool player, he’s a Wales international, so he’s going to have his pick of the bunch, really, and when you’ve got that many after you, I mean, I can’t really see any scenario where he stays put.”

Throughout his career, Wilson has spent loan spells at clubs such as Crewe Alexandra, Hull City, Derby County and most recently, AFC Bournemouth last season as Gorst mentioned in the podcast.

During his time at Bournemouth, the winger, who is currently valued at £14.4 million, made 31 appearances for the club in the Premier League in which he managed to score seven goals.

Earlier this month, Wilson played in Liverpool’s Carabao Cup defeat to Arsenal in which the Liverpool Echo gave him a match rating of 6/10 for his performance in the match.

TIF Thoughts…

With the domestic transfer window still open, there is still time for Wilson to make a move away from Liverpool to an EFL club if the right opportunity arises.

If an opportunity does come up for Wilson to leave, it’ll be interesting to see if he will be going out on another loan deal or on a permanent basis.
