First up in this Steven Gerrard quiz, how old is the former Liverpool man?

On the topic of Gerrard and the possibility of him becoming Liverpool’s manager in the future, Romano had this to say on the matter.

He said: “In my opinion, it’s normal that the club would consider [having] him as a manager in the future. It’s a part of football many years ago, it was like this, and in my opinion, it’s also the beauty of football to have your [club] legend as a manager.

“If he can have an opportunity, I think Gerrard is becoming a really good manager so I’m convinced for the future of Liverpool after Jurgen Klopp, he can be one of the names for Liverpool [to hire as manager].”

During his playing career, Gerrard made a total of 710 senior appearances for the Reds across all competitions in which he racked up a total of 186 goals and 135 assists.

In his managerial career, Gerrard is currently the manager of Scottish club Rangers where he has taken charge of 128 games, winning 80, drawing 29 and losing 19 (per Transfermarkt).

Before taking the Rangers job, Gerrard was in charge of Liverpool’s U18 side from July 2017 to May 2018.

TIF Thoughts on Fabrizio Romano’s comments on Gerrard…

Given how Gerrard spent the majority of his playing career at Liverpool and now looking at his impressive managerial record at Rangers, it’s easy for Gerrard to be spoken about when discussing Liverpool’s potential next manager after Klopp.

Whether or not the club feels the same way or will feel the same way when Klopp does leave Liverpool however is a different matter.

With Klopp’s current contract set to expire in 2024, there’s still a way to go before the Merseyside club has to decide who will be the man to replace the German.
