First up in this Steven Gerrard quiz, how old is the former Liverpool man?

One of the topics that she spent some time on was Diogo Jota and how impressed she has been with the new signing from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Since joining from Wolves, the 23-year-old has played four league games and scored two goals for his new team, earning an average rating of 6.71/10 from those first four league games (as per WhoScored) and he was back on the scoresheet at the weekend as he scored the winner in the Reds’ 2-1 win over Sheffield United, which he followed up in midweek in Liverpool’s Champions League victory over FC Midtjylland.

Speaking before Tuesday’s win, O’Neill heaped praise on Jota, and she sounded excited by what the Portuguese international can do.

It seems as if The Athletic reporter was impressed with how the £36m-rated Jota played and has also been pleased with how he has started at Anfield in general.

She said: “I think having Jota on was a massive boost.

“I [did] a piece a few weeks ago looking at his opening three games – excluding the one against Lincoln – and obviously, that 7-2 game [against Aston Villa] was in that, but still there are so many promising signs from him.

“He scored against Arsenal; then he rose highest for that goal [against Sheffield United].”

Do you think Jota has been a good signing?

TIF Thoughts on O’Neill’s praise for Jota…

In two Premier League seasons with Wolves, Jota scored 16 goals and provided six assists in 67 appearances, which is a decent record, and it seems as if he has already started well at Anfield, having scored two league goals already.

Certainly, O’Neill is impressed with how he has played for the Reds so far, and it is hard to argue that two goals in his first four league games is not a good return for the 23-year-old.

It will be interesting to see how he does as the season progresses.
