Supporters of Leeds United have been swooning over the club’s Brazilian attacker Raphinha following a Twitter post from The Athletic’s Phil Hay.
During the recent transfer window, the Whites secured the services of the 23-year-old winger from Stade Rennais for a £16.72m fee (per Transfermarkt).
Following his signing for Leeds, Hay and Jack Lang wrote an article for The Athletic on the Brazilian and how he had switched Champions League football for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
On Tuesday morning, following United’s 1-0 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers at Elland Road, Hay shared the article to Twitter and claimed that Raphinha had made some ‘nice touches‘ against the Old Gold.
Lots of Leeds fans then flocked to the tweet to air their praise of the winger.
So, what did these Leeds fans have to say about Raphinha following Phil Hay’s tweet?
Some nice touches from Raphinha last night, I thought. @JackLang and I wrote about his background last week, and the talent that drew Deco to him:https://t.co/oDVxnBXw0M

Can’t wait for him to be bedded in, he is going to be special

I liked his urgency too similar to Koch to get playing and pushing forward

The game against Wolves on Monday night represented the 23-year-old attacker’s debut for the Whites.
For his appearance against Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, Raphinha earned a weak 6.07/10 match rating which has made him the third-worst performer for Leeds in the Premier League so far this season (per WhoScored).
Looks like he could be a special player. Liked the way he tracked back as well.

It won’t be before he’s replacing either Harrison or Costa not really too fussed who he replaces

During the clash with Wolves, Raphinha was only introduced late on and he featured in the match for just eight minutes, leaving some Leeds fans feeling he did not get long enough on the pitch.
Do you think Raphinha could become a 'special player' for Leeds?
No, he's not that good
Yes, he's a class player
He deserved more minutes than he got last night.

Needed to make changes earlier last night. 10 mins too late for me

As can be seen in these responses from Leeds supporters, they seem to have been impressed by the Brazilian and felt he deserved more time on the pitch against Wolves.
