LeedsLive’s Beren Cross discussed all things Leeds United in a recent Q&A and one of the topics that the journalist touched on was the remaining business that the Whites could get done in the current transfer window.

As per Transfermarkt, Leeds United have spent £79.38m on six permanent signings during the current transfer window, while they haven’t received any money via player sales.

Who did Leeds sign from a La Liga side in September?

As per The Athletic, it appeared as though Leeds had been set to spend a further £20m on Bayern Munich’s Michael Cuisance, however, that deal fell through and now there is ‘no chance that the move will go ahead.’

Following the collapse of that deal, during his recent Q&A, one reader asked Cross (Live blog, 12:00, 02/10/20) which player he thinks the Whites are now most likely to sign and that reader went on to list Rodrigo de Paul, Todd Cantwell and Dan James as potential signings that they believe the club could yet make.

Cross discussed what transfer business the Whites could yet do in response to that question, saying: (Live blog, 13:45, 02/20/20) ‘I would put money on them getting one more senior face over the line, but I couldn’t back a specific name.

‘It looks like Man Utd are making pathetic progress with their business, which in turn slows down the James move. The irony of going into another deadline day with James hanging in the balance. Radrizzani has all but ruled De Paul out in the past hour or so.’

Do you think Leeds will make any more signings before Monday's deadline?

TIF Thoughts…

So, while Cross’ update does make it seem as though the Whites are likely to make another signing in the current transfer window, it is also unclear exactly who that signing will be, with the journalist only willing to confidently say that ‘one more senior face’ will make their way to Elland Road, without getting too specific with regard to names.

However, Manchester United winger James is seemingly the most likely of the three names this reader mentioned to make the move to Leeds, judging by Cross’ comment.

With the Premier League’s international transfer window set to close on October 5, it will be interesting to see who Leeds manage to get signed before the deadline if they manage to get any more business done at all.
