Many Leeds United fans have flocked to a tweet that was recently posted by The Athletic’s Phil Hay in which he shared some news from Marcelo Bielsa’s latest press conference.
In addition to sharing that Ezgjan Alioski is set to start against Manchester City at the weekend due to Jack Harrison being ineligible for the game because he can’t play against his parent club, Hay shares some comments that the Argentinian coach made regarding the Whites’ pursuit of Bayern Munich midfielder Michael Cuisance.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano recently claimed that the French midfielder has joined Leeds on a permanent deal signing a contract that will keep him at the club until June 2025.
However, as per Hay, Bielsa ‘wouldn’t comment’ on the Cuisance deal in his latest press conference, with the journalist quoting the manager as saying he “didn’t want to have a repeat of the [Dan] James situation,” likely referencing when the current Manchester United winger was set to join Leeds from Swansea City in January 2019 but the transfer ‘collapsed at the eleventh hour’, as per Manchester Evening News.
After this news from Bielsa’s press conference was shared by Hay via a tweet, plenty of Whites supporters replied to his post to share their thoughts on these comments.
From Bielsa's press conference: Harrison is ineligible against his parent club so Alioski set to start. Was asked about Cuisance but said he wouldn't comment until the signing was done because he "didn't want to have a repeat of the (Dan) James situation." #lufc

However, other Whites supporters replied to share that this news doesn’t make them concerned about the likelihood of this transfer happening.
The Chairman of Bayern has said goodbye to him over instagram so cant be the same as the Dan James situation at least ?

Is not going to be drawn on a transfer until it’s done. Has he ever commented on a transfer target?

Are you worried that this transfer will not happen?
YES
NO
So, as can be seen in these Leeds fans’ replies to this post, there has been a mixed response to this news amongst Whites supporters.
With it having been reported that Cuisance’s move to Elland Road is done earlier in the week, it will be interesting to see if Whites fans have to wait much longer to receive confirmation of whether the club has actually signed the player or not.
