Speaking on a recent episode of the HLTCO podcast, Dan Cook suggested that Crystal Palace are still looking to act in the transfer market.

After the summer signings of Eberechi Eze in a £16.02 million deal from Queens Park Rangers, Nathan Ferguson on a free transfer from West Bromwich Albion and Michy Batshuayi on a loan deal from Chelsea, as well as selling Alexander Sorloth for an £18 million fee to RB Leipzig, Palace are currently £1.98 million in profit from their deals in the current transfer window.

How well do you remember the action from the opening weekend of the Premier League? - 1. Who scored the first goal of the season?

However, with the fee for the signing of Ferguson set to be decided by a tribunal, as well as the fact that the club has agreed to give split Sorloth’s transfer fee with Trabzonspor, where the player was in the middle of a two-year loan deal when he was sold by Palace to Leipzig, this £1.98 million profit is very much subject to change.

Despite this, the club is still reported to be interested a number of players over what remains of the summer transfer window, including Brentford’s Said Benrahma and Watford’s Ismaila Sarr.

The interest in these players was one topic of conversation on a recent episode of the HLTCO podcast, in which Cook stated that he believes Palace will look to secure the signing of another new player over the remaining days of the transfer window.

He said: “[There are] other stories doing the rounds, in relation to Rhian Brewster and to Ismaila Sarr as well.

“I think we will end up with another attacking player coming into the building before the [transfer] deadline passes, but at the moment, [it looks like it will be] one of [Brewster, Sarr or Benrahma], or even a name that we aren’t aware of yet.

“The club are clearly keen to [make another sigining], they’ve not necessarily [been] open about it, but there’s been plenty of discussion about the fact that we’re looking to get another attacking player into the squad.

“I don’t think anyone from Steve Parish, Dougie Freedman or Roy Hodgson would deny that, it’s just in terms of the individual themselves as to who we’re going to be settling on and going all out for that we’re still in the dark over.”

Do you think Palace will land either of Benrahma or Sarr before the transfer deadline?

TIF Thoughts…

From Cook’s comments, it is clear that the podcaster is of the belief that Palace will indeed look to make another addition to their squad over the remaining days of the transfer window, and, although Brewster has recently joined Sheffield United, Cook appears to believe that both Sarr and Benrahma are possible targets for the south London side.

As such, these potential moves by Palace are ones which we will be keeping a very close eye on as the transfer deadline draws closer.
