A lot of Celtic fans have reacted angrily to a post from Daily Record Sport on Twitter that contains a link to an article on their site with quotes from Kris Commons.

Which player played the highest number of minutes in all competitions for Celtic in the 2019/20 season?

The former Celtic man speaking in his Daily Mail column claimed that Celtic were ‘laboured’ against Riga in the Europa League and that playing Ryan Christie as a striker ‘is doing no one any favours’ (Daily Mail via the Daily Record).

Commons then accused Neil Lennon of trying to fit Christie, Callum McGregor, Scott Brown, and Olivier Ntcham into the same team and that ‘it doesn’t work‘.

Finally, Commons stated that he finds watching Celtic a ‘struggle‘.

These comments have not gone down well with these Bhoys fans, who are not happy.

Do you agree with Commons?

No, he is talking nonsense

Commons made 227 appearances and scored 89 goals for Celtic, but now it seems he doesn’t enjoy watching his old side play, which has not gone down well with many Celtic fans.

However, a few agree with him and think that Lennon should change the formation.

In the Bhoys’ 1-0 win over Riga in the Europa League, Ntcham played as a striker, not Christie as Commons claims, but Celtic needed a late goal from Mohamed Elyounoussi to go through.

In the league, though, Celtic have played a variety of formations which have seen them win 5-0, 5-1, 3-0, and 3-2 as well as a few other wins.

So, that does not exactly seem that boring as they have been scoring a lot of goals in the Premiership, but we see Commons’ point about the Europa League.

However, it is clear that these comments have annoyed many Celtic fans.
