David Edgar, Cameron Bell and James Tessier discussed all things Rangers on the most recent edition of the Heart and Hand podcast and during the show, the panel spent some time criticising referee Kevin Clancy.

As per the Daily Record, Clancy has been criticised for not sending off Dundee United’s Ryan Edwards ‘after he left a stud-deep gash on Alfredo Morelos’ during the Gers’ 4-0 Premiership win over the Tangerines last Saturday.

Rangers fan? We bet you can't get 100% on this Gers transfer quiz. According to Transfermarkt, the £4.5million signing of which player has been the club's most expensive signing so far this summer?

Clancy had previously come under some scrutiny from Gers supporters last season for his refereeing performance in Rangers’ 2-1 Old Firm win on 29th December.

Here is what Tessier had to say about the referee following the Gers’ 4-0 win in last Saturday’s Premiership fixture during this recent edition of the Heart and Hand podcast: “With certain referees, the more these things keep happening, you’ve got to start asking yourself, ‘well, maybe there is something going on here.

“You do find yourself drawing the conclusion that that’s all it can be because surely, no referee is that incompetent, that consistently against Rangers – and if he is, why isn’t he get [brought] to task by the SFA about it?

“Why does he keep getting awarded our matches? Why, when he does get awarded our matches, does he keep doing these things – missing stuff or showing cards where cards aren’t and just generally being a bumbling oaf? Why does this keep happening?

“The conclusion that I keep coming to, sadly, is that there is a large degree of bias there.”

TIF Thoughts…

As can be seen in what the podcaster had to say, he is clearly incensed by Clancy’s performance in this past weekend’s Premiership fixture, with the podcaster going so far as to call for the SFA to look into Clancy’s refereeing.

Considering that this particular referee has been singled out as having refereed Rangers games poorly in the past, we feel that it is understandable why Tessier is so annoyed about what he perceived to be another poor performance from the referee last weekend and if this continues to be a problem, then maybe he is right in saying that this is something that needs to be looked into by the SFA.
