Celtic pundit Stevie Mullen has been sharing his thoughts on the pressure the Hoops players and Neil Lennon are under to secure the SPFL title this season.

This comes after Mullen recently made an appearance on the latest episode of the A Celtic State Of Mind Podcast where he spoke about a number of topics concerning Lennon’s side.

Which player played the highest number of minutes in all competitions for Celtic in the 2019/20 season?

On the subject of the probability of the Hoops securing their 10th SPFL title in a row this season, Mullen had this to say on the pressure of reaching that particular milestone.

He said: “Neil Lennon was saying the other day he’s going to bring in a psychologist to help these players, because the pressure that Celtic are under this year must be absolutely immense. I was talking to a top sports psychologist the other day, and he thinks that Neil needs to talk to somebody. He’s showing a lot of characteristics on the side of the park that had him a wee bit worried about Neil.”

Back in May, Celtic were crowned champions for the ninth time in a row after the 2019/20 SPFL season was deemed unfeasible to be completed as a result of the pandemic.

So far this season, the Hoops have got their league campaign off to a great start having won six out of their first seven league games (per Transfermarkt).

TIF Thoughts…

Looking at their results in the league so far this season, it would appear that Celtic are on the right track at this moment in time to secure their 10th league title in a row. However, if the players or the management team are feeling the pressure, perhaps Celtic’s plans to potentially bringing in a psychologist could be a good move for them to give them an edge going forward, as Mullen mentioned in the podcast.
