Pundit Tam McManus has recently made a claim about the situation of Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard and his future at Parkhead.

McManus was a guest on the latest episode of PLZ Soccer’s The Football Show, during which the panel discussed multiple issues concerning Scottish football.

One topic of discussion was Edouard and his future at Celtic. McManus believes that the Frenchman’s agent is “filling his head with nonsense” and he also said that the thinks we’ll see a different version of the player once the transfer window slams shut.

Which player played the highest number of minutes in all competitions for Celtic in the 2019/20 season?

This comes after Edouard has recently been linked with a move to Aston Villa and Brighton & Hove Albion. Ligue 1 side Monaco also had an approach rejected for the striker in the January transfer window earlier this year.

McManus revealed that he’s talked to some people at Celtic about Edouard’s situation and here’s what he had to say: “I just think [that] as soon as the window closes, you’ll see a different player.

“I don’t think it’s the lad, I think it’s maybe his agent’s in the background, maybe filling his head with nonsense and saying – ‘I’ve got you this move and that move and this club’s interested and they’re going to give you this and give you that.’

“I just feel as if, once this window closes, I think you’ll see a different player. He’ll get his head down, he’ll be focused and he’ll just want to play well.

“I just feel as if it’s probably the background, I don’t think it’s the lad himself. I spoke to a few people at Celtic and it seems to be that it’s the agent in the background.”

TIF Thoughts…

Following Celtic’s loss to Ferencvaros in the qualifying stages of the Champions League, Edouard’s agent claimed that the striker is “happy” at Celtic and while playing in the Champions League is “important” for the player, it isn’t exactly “crucial” for him at this point.

His agent also said that the Frenchman is enjoying his life in Scotland (as per Daily Record).

Going by the comments of the agent, the Frenchman seems happy at Parkhead. However, with the aforementioned interest in him, it will be interesting to see if he stays with the Hoops.
