To kick-off this quiz on Nuno Espirito Santo on the hard side, which club was his first game on the touchline at Molineux against?

One of the topics that the former Birmingham Mail reporter spent some time on was the contract situation of Nuno Espirito Santo, with his deal has less than a year remaining.

It was claimed in July that Nuno was set to sign a new deal, but here we are in September, with no extension signed.

However, it seems that Berry is not worried about Nuno’s contract at all, and he is hoping for some movement on that front in the coming weeks.

He said: “I think in terms of the contract, as you say, I wouldn’t have thought there is anything to be concerned about; it has been unprecedented times, we’ve had the pandemic.

“He didn’t get to see his family through that, which I imagine he’s now hopefully managed to do since the end of the season.

“Things like the contract, which is almost at the back of his mind will now probably have moved to the front as we get back into the new season.

“You certainly expect to get some sort of news on that over the coming weeks.

“No guarantees, but I don’t see anything that raises any concerns.”

TIF Thoughts…

Since Nuno joined Wolves, he has won them promotion from the Championship and earned back-to-back seventh-place finishes in the Premier League, so it would be fair to say he has done a good job.

Berry does not sound worried about this situation at all, but it should be considered that until the contract is signed and announced, Espirito Santo’s future hangs in the balance.

Wolves have performed well in Nuno’s first three seasons, and you would think that many Old Gold fans would want this new deal to be sorted, so they can continue to watch their team potentially grow further under the former Porto boss.
