To kick off this quiz on Wolves' 2019/20 season, which side did the Old Gold's first win of the Premier League term come against?

One of the moves that he spent some time speaking on was Wolverhampton Wanderers’ new record signing, Fabio Silva.

Wolves spent £35.6m on the 18-year-old despite him only scoring three senior goals for his old club, and it seems as if Glendenning is not convinced by the signing, but is not prepared to dismiss Silva just yet.

Glendenning argued that although Wolves have spent a lot of money on the youngster, he is happy to see how the deal works out, citing the club’s positive state of affairs.

He said: “It’s a strange transaction, I am not sure what to make of it.

“It seems a ridiculously large amount of money to splash out on such a young player with not much experience under his belt, but you would be inclined to give Wolves the benefit of the doubt, because they do seem like a very well-run club.

“I am guessing that he’s a Jorge Mendes client and this is a Jorge Mendes transfer – these links with Wolves are well-documented – but I would be inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt.”

Do you think Silva will be a good signing?

TIF Thoughts…

Wolves announced the signing of Silva over the weekend, and he scored three goals in 21 senior appearances for Porto, but that has not stopped the Old Gold shelling out £35.6m on him.

However, Silva is not one of Jorge Mendes’ clients, so Glendenning’s assumption is wrong on that one – with the Portugal U19 international currently tied to football agency STV (as per Transfermarkt).

Considering he only made 21 senior appearances for Porto, it will be interesting to see how quickly Wolves integrate him into the first team.
