To kick off this quiz on West Ham's 2019/20 season, which side did the Hammers' first win of the term come against?

One of the topics that he spent some time on was the 2020/21 season and how he sees it going for the Hammers.

It seems as if Roddy thinks that the combination of West Ham’s tough start and the bad mood around the club could put the Hammers in trouble fairly quickly.

He said: “I just worry about the mood, really, as a fan.

“I just think that start to the season is an absolute nightmare.

“I think there’s a real toxic mood there at the moment already, and a ball has not been kicked.

“The transfer window doesn’t close until October, but by then, they could already be in a bit of trouble.

“Of course, you are not necessarily talking about being relegated in October, especially in a delayed season, but with those games and with the mood of the club and with results just drifting and those fixtures in a row, they could be in real trouble.”

Do you think West Ham will get off to a bad start?

TIF Thoughts…

West Ham captain Mark Noble recently expressed his anger at the club when Grady Diangana was sold to West Bromwich Albion, and it has been reported that in the wake of this deal, the mood surrounding the club is low.

The Hammers start their Premier League campaign with a game against Newcastle United, but after that, they face six of last season’s top eight, hence Roddy’s concerns over West Ham getting off to a bad start.

So far, on the transfer front, West Ham have only signed Tomas Soucek, so there isn’t much positive news there, either.

If you take all of these things into account, then you can clearly see why Roddy fears for West Ham.
