Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to a transfer rumour linking their club with a move for Benfica striker Carlos Vinicius.

According to Portuguese news outlet Tvi24 (via Daily Hotspur), Jose Mourinho has informed those in charge of transfers at Tottenham that he wants them to sign the 25-year-old. The Portuguese boss confirmed recently that the Lilywhites would be signing another forward before the transfer window closes in October, and it seems as if he has identified the Brazilian striker as a potential option for his side.

The forward, who was signed from Napoli last summer, seriously impressed in his first season with the Portuguese giants, contributing 24 goals and 13 assists in 47 appearances in all competitions in the 2019/20 campaign (per Transfermarkt). He is currently valued at £18 million, suggesting that it wouldn’t be the most expensive transfer for Spurs, although he does have four years left on his current contract.
