Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to a reported update on Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson, which suggests that Aston Villa have bid for the 28-year-old.
According to Matt Law of the Daily Telegraph (via Daily Hotspur), the Cherries have placed a £17 million price tag on the England international this summer, whilst Villa have bid £15 million plus £5 million in add-ons as they try and bring him to Villa Park. Spurs are another side who have been heavily linked with a move for the former Coventry City man this summer, but it seems as if they will have to build on that reported interest if they are to avoid losing out on him to Dean Smith’s side.
Jose Mourinho’s side could certainly be said to be in need of a striker ahead of next season, when you consider the lack of attacking options available to the Portuguese manager last season, following the injury suffered by Harry Kane. Therefore, you could argue that a move for Wilson makes a lot of sense, with the 28-year-old having hit 41 goals in the Premier League in his career thus far (per Transfermarkt).
Do you still think Spurs have a chance of signing Wilson?

Out done by villa embarrassing!! Not that Wilson is or could be the answer but the fact there’s no ambition. Always got to sell before we buy.

Plenty of Spurs fans seem to think that the club should just pay the asking price for Wilson.
Give it to them then.

Looks like #thfc might just miss out on Callum Wilson, and for a good price too.
Looks like Spurs need to sell before bringing in reinforcements. https://t.co/Gddu1xwQNt

Overall, it seems as if the majority of Spurs fans feel the club should pay up for Wilson, whilst other fans feel it is slightly embarrassing that the Birmingham-based club can seemingly afford to pay the fee, whilst the Lilywhites are seemingly yet to make an official bid.
