Ricky Sacks has been speaking on a recent edition of the Last Word On Spurs podcast, and he has been discussing all things relating to Tottenham Hotspur with his guests Lee McQueen and Jason McGovern.

Which player scored Spurs' first goal of the Premier League campaign?

One of the topics that Sacks spent some time on was Spurs’ hunt for a left-back, or should that be lack of a hunt as it looks like Tottenham are not looking to sign a left-back.

It seems as if Spurs are not looking to sign a left-back and will instead rely on their current options, which doesn’t seem to have convinced Sacks.

He said: “The club aren’t looking at the moment to bring in a left-back, from what we understand from quite high-up sources.

“How do you [McGovern] feel about going into next season with Ben Davies, with Ryan Sessegnon, and now Dennis Cirkin?

“Does that scream to you that’s enough to secure top four? Because to me, I will be honest with you, that doesn’t tell me or give me the confidence that this is going to be good enough to really go and give the league a real push.”

Do you think Tottenham need a left-back?

TIF Thoughts…

Tottenham have one player (Ben Davies) in their senior squad who can play as natural left-back and a further four who can play there.

They also have Danny Rose for the moment though he is expected to leave North London this summer.

However, in terms of players who are capable of playing there, Spurs have plenty of options, but it seems as if Sacks does not think that what they have is enough.

The transfer window still has just less than a month to go, so if Spurs do change their mind and decide they want a left-back, they have time to do so.

It will be interesting to see if Spurs’ current left-back options are enough or if they do decide to try and sign someone for that position.
