Speaking recently on The Extra Inch podcast, Chris Miller and Bardi discussed the possibility of selling Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele and using the funds to purchase Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish.

Following two very contrasting seasons, there have been rumours of exits from their respective clubs for both Ndombele and Grealish this summer.

Which player scored Spurs' first goal of the Premier League campaign?

While Ndombele is being linked with a move away from Spurs, largely down to underwhelming performances – Ndombele averaged a WhoScored match rating of 6.71 in the Premier League – and reported bust-ups with Spurs manager Jose Mourinho, Grealish, on the other hand, has been linked with the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United and Spurs because of his fine season with Villa – where he averaged a highly impressive WhoScored match rating of 7.23.

When asked by a fan whether or not the podcasters on The Extra Inch show would be happy for Spurs to sell Ndombele and then put the money towards buying the £36 million-rated Grealish, there was an overwhelming majority that said they would.

Firstly, Bardi said: “I’d be well up for selling him and then buying Grealish. I don’t think that’s a bad turnaround, and it’s probably well within our budget. That could happen if we get a decent amount for Ndombele.”

Before Miller added: “Grealish is ridiculously good, and he’s very much Premier League proven. I think Grealish goes to a club and improves them, to be honest.”

TIF Thoughts…

From their comments, then, it would seem as if both Bardi and Miller would be happy for Tottenham to sell Ndombele this summer and then bring in Grealish.

However, considering the fact that Villa are reported to be asking for £80 million in order to part with the 23-year-old, and the fact that Ndombele is only currently valued at £40.5 million by Transfermarkt, Spurs would most likely still need to get together a great deal of money together in order to make this theoretical deal happen.
