Mark Ogden has been discussing the future of Tottenham Hotspur’s Dele Alli on ESPN FC

The 24-year-old was left out of Jose Mourinho’s squad that beat Southampton at St. Mary’s last weekend and the decision is said to have left the rest of the squad ‘stunned’ (as per the Daily Star).

Although Alli was included in the starting eleven against Everton on the opening weekend of the Premier League season, he only played 45 minutes (as per Transfermarkt) and so it is understandable as to why the conversation regarding his future is being had.

When asked about the former MK Dons player and what the future may hold for him, this is what Ogden had to say:

“He certainly isn’t the player that we all saw at the World Cup in 2018; he’s lost his England place, he’s in and out of the Spurs team.

“Dele Alli looks to me like a player that needs a move to revitalise his career.

“PSG have been linked with him, the Real Madrid stories haven’t come to anything and I’m told that Real don’t have an interest in Dele Alli.”

TIF Thoughts…

Alli has played 223 times for the Lilywhites to date, scoring 62 goals and providing his teammates with 55 assists (as per Transfermarkt). Looking at the aforementioned statistics, it could be argued that the player’s Spurs career to date has been relatively successful.

However, judging by the fact he appears to be out of favour with Mourinho, it could be fair to say the Portuguese coach has been less than impressed by what he has seen from the player recently but it remains to be seen whether a move away from North London for the £57.6m-rated midfielder will materialise during this transfer window.
