Spurs fans: How well can you remember the last week of THFC action? - 1. Who scored Spurs' first goal of the season?

One of the topics that he talked about while on the episode was Harry Winks, as he revealed that he likes the 24-year-old and still feels he has a role to play in Spurs’ side.

It seems as if Brown likes Winks for his passion and hopes that he will stay at Spurs and fill in for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

He said: “I am still a really big fan of Harry Winks, and I think he’s a guy that could definitely come into the team and maybe do the same role as [Pierre-Emile] Hojbjerg now and then.

“He’s one of our own, he’s homegrown [and] just that passion that he has for Spurs – I know people will say ‘you want more than just passion’, I definitely think he’s still got more than just passion; I still think he’s got a lot of ability, but he’s definitely someone you want to see stick around.”

TIF Thoughts…

Winks has started both of Spurs’ first two Premier League games against Everton and Southampton and has turned in ratings of 5.95 and 6.6.

Therefore, you could argue he hasn’t had the greatest start to the campaign.

Last season, Winks, who is valued at £25.2m by Transfermarkt, made 41 appearances for Spurs in all competitions.

Still, now with the arrival of Hojbjerg, there is more competition in that central midfield area, and judging by the first two league games of the season, Winks is probably going to need to play better or he could lose his starting spot.

Despite this, though, it is clear that Brown still thinks he is useful and would like to keep him in north London.
