Many Tottenham Hotspur supporters have been reacting to a Twitter post from @Daily_Hotspur in which they relayed a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport regarding the club’s interest in Milan Skriniar.
The Italian outlet claims there is a ‘cautious optimism’ about a deal being done from Inter’s side of the negotiations and that a ‘handshake between the two clubs is no longer as complicated’.
The Slovakian was an unused substitute during the Nerazzurri’s 4-3 win over Fiorentina on Saturday (as per Transfermarkt).
Signed from Sampdoria in July 2017, in a deal reportedly worth £30.6m (as per Transfermarkt), the 25-year-old has played 128 times for the club, scoring four goals from centre-back.
Following the update, here is how a sample of the Lilywhites faithful have responded on the social media platform.

It’s clear from the above responses that many of these Spurs fans would like to see the club secure the signing of Skriniar between now and the end of the transfer window, despite some making it clear they would also like to see a striker come in.
The £45m-rated defender made 32 appearances in the Italian top flight last season and according to WhoScored.com, his average performance rating was 6.61/10 which in our view, isn’t particularly eye-catching given his high value.
