Many Tottenham Hotspur supporters have been reacting to a recent Twitter post from @LastWordOnSpurs in which they relayed a report from journalist Alan Nixon claiming the club are in talks with Habib Diallo over a potential move to north London.
The 25-year-old made 27 appearances in all competitions for FC Metz last season, scoring 12 goals and providing his teammates with three assists (as per Transfermarkt). Jose Mourinho recently told the press he is confident the Lilywhites will sign a centre-forward between now and the end of the current transfer window given that other than Harry Kane, there is currently no second recognised striker in the first-team squad.
Following the news that the club have opened talks with the £10.8m-rated Senegalese international, here is how a sample of the club’s faithful have responded.
Statistically the worst of the bunch and his touch is awful. Alot of luck involved with nearly all his goals. The poor gk quality and defending of ligue 1 is a massive factor in his record. Also 25 years old. Next

Lol we have been linked with 82 strikers in one week… I don’t even bother again if it’s not @FabrizioRomano or sky sports

Every one of these shots is mis-hit

Based on the price tag that sounds more like a levy signing. Forget who would improve the squad just find anyone that hits a price ?

Would you like to see Spurs sign Habib Diallo this summer?
Yes
No
It’s clear from the above responses that not all of these fans are convinced Diallo is the answer for Spurs. According to WhoScored.com, his average performance rating in Ligue 1 last season was a solid 6.97/10 which would suggest, in our view, he is capable of performing to a good standard regularly. More fans of the club made their feelings known in the responses.
Spurs don’t any ambition if we buy this guy

Another day, another striker….. boring. Just buy Deeney and stop kidding us we’ll try to challenge for anything this season.

ENIC ambition.

Smokescreen. Can’t believe the club would make such a mistake.

According to the Daily Star, the forward is renowned for his ‘considerable pace’ and has the ability to play wide as well as through the middle which means in our view, he may offer something different to Harry Kane and therefore provide Mourinho with different options up front.
