According to a recent report, Crystal Palace officials are set to meet Said Benrahma’s advisors regarding a move for the Brentford winger.

The report by Sky Sports states that the west London side are willing to sell the 25-year-old, who has been linked with the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Leeds United, West Ham United and Aston Villa this summer, should Palace, or any other club, meet their £25 million valuation of the winger.

Crystal Palace fan? We bet you can't get 100% on this Palace 19/20 season quiz. We'll start off with an easy one... Which side did Palace face on the opening day of the 19/20 Premier League season?

It is not difficult to see why there has been so much interest in the Algeria international, as, last season, he set the Championship alight, scoring 17 goals and providing nine assists over his 46 league and play-off fixtures, earning 11 WhoScored Man of the Match awards, as well as averaging a highly impressive WhoScored match rating of 7.49.

However, following Brentford’s failure to secure promotion after their play-off final loss to Fulham, it would now appear that the club are prepared to let the £9.45 million-rated player make a move to the Premier League, with Palace looking, at present, his most likely destination.

TIF Thoughts…

With Palace having already secured the signings of Nathan Ferguson from West Bromwich Albion and Eberechi Eze from Queens Park Rangers this summer, in addition to the loan signing of Michy Batshuayi from Chelsea, the further acquisition of Benrahma would certainly go a long way to helping rejuvenate Roy Hodgson’s squad.

Furthermore, considering the fact that Palace have been looking to lower the average age of their squad by making younger signings over the transfer window, at 25-years-old, Benrahma probably just about falls into the ‘young’ category, and, even if he doesn’t, he has plenty of footballing years ahead of him just yet, leading us to believe that this would be a great move for the Eagles.
