Fans of Tottenham Hotspur have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report that the club’s ‘full focus’ is now on signing a new striker.

According to a report by Football.london, although Jose Mourinho ‘would like to add another centre-back’ to his squad, the club are now prioritising the signing of a new striker this summer.

The report then goes on to mention some of the attacking players that the club have been linked with over the transfer window, including Callum Wilson, Arkadiusz Milik, Diego Costa, Chris Wood and Ollie Watkins.

It is said that the majority of these links appear to have either been inaccurate or that the club are now not interested in pursuing these players, however, Football.London state that the club are indeed interested in ‘a couple of targets’, one of which is said to be Metz striker Habib Diallo.

After this report was relayed on Twitter by Hotspur Related, fans of the club flocked to have their say on the matter, with many stating their suggestions for players they would like Spurs to sign, with Wolverhampton Wanderers striker, Raul Jimenez, appearing to be one of the favourites amongst fans.

Since allowing Fernando Llorente to leave for Napoli last summer, Spurs had been left with only Harry Kane as a senior striker in their squad, so the fact that the club are now reported to be focused on signing another forward as competition or back-up for the England international has, rather understandably, got these Spurs fans excited, with many more providing suggestions for attackers they would like to see make the move to north London this summer.

Do you think Spurs will actually sign a new striker this summer?

With the report by Football.london only mentioning Habib Diallo by name as one of the club’s current attacking targets, it would be slightly surprising, in our opinion, if Spurs were to make a move for one of Arkadiusz Milik or Raul Jimenez.

However, we, along with the Spurs fans, will have to wait and see exactly what avenue the club pursue in bringing a striker in this summer.
