This post then gathered a lot of replies from Spurs fans, who were not shy in airing their thoughts on this latest news surrounding the former Lilywhites winger.

Here’s a sample of Spurs fans responding to the post:

Bale signed to the north London club back in 2007 from Southampton for a fee of £13.23 million. After making a total of 203 appearances for Spurs, in which he managed to score 56 goals and provide 58 assists, the Welshman made a mega-money move to Real Madrid in a deal worth a reported fee of £90.9 million in 2013.

Since joining the Spanish club, Bale has made 251 appearances, scoring 105 goals and providing 68 assists along the way, winning numerous trophies during his time in Spain.

Recently, Bale, who is valued at £25.2 million (as per Transfermarkt), has been linked with a return to Tottenham after falling out of favour with Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane.
