Fans of Tottenham Hotspur have been reacting to a post on Twitter, in which Fabrizio Romano provides an update on the club’s potential move for Inter defender Milan Skriniar.
Gianluca Di Marzio reported on Tuesday that Spurs had made first contract with Inter regarding a potential move for the £45 million-rated centre-back and that the Serie A side are looking for a figure of around €60 million (£54.9 million) to part with the defender.
Then, on Wednesday, Di Marzio provided an update on the potential deal, stating that Tottenham’s technical performance director, Steve Hitchen, had met representatives of the player to discuss the transfer.
Romano then relayed this information on Twitter, adding that Spurs ‘won’t match’ the €60 million (£54.9 million) asking price of the Slovakia international and that the club value the player closer to €50 million (£45.7 million) with add-ons included.
He continued by stating that there was ‘no agreement’ at present, but that the talks between the two parties remain ‘on’.
Do you think Milan Skriniar will be a Spurs player by the end of the transfer window?
Yes
No
In reaction to Romano’s tweet, fans of Tottenham flocked to have their say on the matter, with many stating their excitement at the potential deal for Skriniar.
It's only a 10M gap.

Since joining Inter from Sampdoria in what was a £30.6 million deal back in 2017, Skriniar has gone on to feature 128 times for I Nerazzurri, chipping in with four goals and providing four assists along the way.
Last season, the defender made 32 appearances in Serie A, over which he averaged 1.2 tackles, 0.9 interceptions and 2.6 clearances per game, as well as a highly impressive pass success rate of 92.1%, culminating in an average WhoScored match rating of 6.61.
And it would seem that his performances have impressed Spurs fans, with many more taking to Twitter to share their elation at the news that the club are trying to sign the defender.
So we're offering £45m? We'll surely find an agreement, Conte doesn't use him and Skriniar wants to go, so £45m is surely enough, pleaseee! https://t.co/CuP1wMpGhT

All in all, it would appear that these Spurs fans would love to see their club land Skriniar, and are delighted with Tottenham’s attempts to try and negotiate a deal to bring the 25-year-old to north London before the transfer window closes in October.
