This comes after Addison recently made an appearance on Wednesday’s edition of the Liverpool Echo’s Blood Red Podcast where he discussed all the latest news stories concerning Jurgen Klopp’s side.

First up in this Jordan Henderson quiz, how old is the Liverpool captain?

After it was recently revealed that the Reds had announced record-breaking kit sales after the club released their new Nike kits last month, Addison had this to say on the matter.

He said: “Obviously the news breaking yesterday was that it’s now a record-breaking kit deal. The sales have surpassed pretty much everyone’s expectations, I think, particularly obviously having since seen what [the pandemic] has done to the economy and that sort of thing, there [were] a few fears that the sales figures would possibly be slightly down for this year.

“Long-term, I think the Nike deal was always the right one for Liverpool to take, but in the short term, you did wonder the impact of it so yeah, record-breaking kit sales, 15% up on the home shirt, 30% up on the away shirt and Liverpool and Nike are going to donate 100 kits to local Anfield residents in order to celebrate that achievement.”

Back in January, the Merseyside club announced that they had struck a “multi-year partnership” deal with Nike to take over from New Balance as their official kit suppliers from the start of the 2020/21 season.

Back in August, the club released their new Nike home kit before revealing their new away kit later on in the month.

TIF Thoughts…

With both kits now out, it’s great to hear that the Reds have made a record number of sales on them. It’s also fantastic to hear that the club and Nike have decided to donate some more kits out to fans in Liverpool to celebrate their excellent sales.

As Addison said in the podcast, it appears that this deal with Nike has been a clever move from the Merseyside club and hopefully, they can continue to sell plenty of kits throughout the remainder of their partnership with Nike.
