On the latest video for his YouTube channel, Football.london reporter Alasdair Gold has been discussing the latest goings-on at Tottenham Hotspur, reflecting on the 1-0 loss against Everton last weekend, and shedding some light on the latest transfer rumours surrounding the club.

One topic of discussion on his recent video was Spurs’ transfer plans for the remainder of the window. The journalist suggests that the north London club feel that they don’t need to add another attacking-midfielder to their ranks, with the likes of Dele Alli and Giovani Lo Celso both capable of featuring there.

Here’s what the journalist had to say about why Spurs won’t be targeting another attacking midfielder in the current transfer window:

“This is the thing. Again, I know this upsets people, but I’ve been told they’re not looking for another attacking midfielder because they believe they’ve got enough in [Tanguy] Ndombele, Lo Celso and Alli.”

TIF Thoughts…

Spurs weren’t particularly creative against the Toffees in their opening Premier League fixture, registering just five shots on target in the game, so you can perhaps see why some Lilywhites fans might feel that they need to add more creativity to their ranks before the window shuts. Alli, in particular, disappointed against Everton, earning a 6.34/10 rating for his first-half display (as per WhoScored), before being subbed by Jose Mourinho at the break.

Do Spurs need another attacking-midfielder?

Yes

No

No

However, the north London club were without Lo Celso who, as Gold alludes to, can also provide a creative influence in midfield, and from what the journalist suggests, it seems as if they are happy with their options in that role and won’t be dipping into the transfer market to strengthen in that position.
