Supporters of Tottenham Hotspur have recently reacted to a transfer claim regarding Benfica striker Haris Seferovic.

According to a recent claim, Jose Mourinho’s side is close to signing the 28-year-old Swiss frontman from his current Portuguese outfit.

Speaking on CMTV, Fernando Mendes made the claim that the player is ‘close’ to moving to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

This was following a report from Record, as cited by The Sun, which claimed that Tottenham are eyeing the striker on a season-long loan with an option to purchase.

Seferovic has been a Benfica player since the summer of 2017, having made the move to Portugal from Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt on a free transfer (per Transfermarkt).

For his current club, the Swiss forward has scored 43 goals and provided 16 assists in 126 appearances.

Seferovic currently has four years left on his contract with Benfica and a market value of £9m according to Transfermarkt.

As mentioned by a few supporters, the striker bagged just five goals over 30 appearances in Liga NOS last season and he earned a weak 6.47/10 average rating (per WhoScored).
