John Gibson has been speaking on the latest episode of NUFC Matters with Steve Wraith and Malcolm Macdonald, and he has been talking about transfers and possible players that the Toon might sign.

To get things started a rather easy one. Who scored Newcastle's first league goal of the season?

Gibson discussed other topics, but he spent a bit of time on transfers and had information on Ryan Fraser and Callum Wilson, who have both been heavily linked with a move to St James’ Park recently.

It seems as if Gibson believes that Newcastle must strengthen three positions, and it seems as if Fraser and Wilson are willing to move to Tyneside to fill two of those.

He said: “For me, they’ve got to bring in a centre-forward and the one that looks likely [is] Callum Wilson.

“They’ve [got to] bring in a winger and the one that looks likely is Ryan Fraser, and they’ve got to bring in a left-back where they’ve only got [Paul] Dummett, who will do a good job in a flat back four, not a five, but he’s the only bloke we’ve got at the moment.

“Now, we need a centre-forward, and we need a winger. Now the interesting thing is that I am told both Callum Wilson and Ryan Fraser want to come here.”

Do you think Newcastle will sign both Fraser and Wilson?

Yes, looking good to get both

TIF Thoughts…

Fraser has supposedly been in talks with the Toon but has not agreed on personal terms yet, but he is keen to join Newcastle because he can be closer to his family in Scotland.

Wilson also has interest from Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur, but the Toon have Matt Ritchie, who Bournemouth want to be included in the deal for the 28-year-old.

It has also been claimed that Wilson has picked Newcastle as his destination, so these are positive signs, and if everything goes to plan, then the Toon could have both in their squad before the end of the transfer window.
