A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from Jetro Willems after he put out a cryptic tweet that suggested he was ‘on his way’, sending Newcastle fans into a frenzy.
The 26-year-old was on loan last season at the Toon until he suffered an ACL injury in January that ruled him out for the rest of the season, though his loan didn’t officially end until the 30th of June.
However, in his 19 league appearances for Newcastle, Willems scored two goals and provided two assists and earned a solid rating of 6.84 from his displays in the Premier League.
This post, which simply read ‘Omw….’, from Willems drew the attention of many Newcastle fans, who are hoping he is coming back to Tyneside.
Do you think Willems will rejoin Newcastle?
No, he will be going somewhere else
Yes, he is coming home
Jetro, there’s only one club for you and that’s Newcastle United. Please come home, you are a breath of fresh air and as you can see via these tweets, us fans love you. ??

While Willems was injured, he insisted that he wanted to return to Newcastle and join the club permanently.
However, the Toon have just spent £15m plus add-ons for Jamal Lewis from Norwich City, who rated at 7.27/10 in the recent game against West Ham United (as per WhoScored), so if Willems were to join, he might not be a guaranteed starter for the Toon.
Willems’ post continued to attract the attention of many Newcastle fans.
You coming back to Newcastle then lad ??

The Dutchman is left-footed and has never played as a right-back, which probably rules out any chance of him coming in to compete for the right-back role – so if he were to rejoin Newcastle, he would be competing with Lewis and others for a spot at left-back.
We will just have to see where the 26-year-old ends up, but it is clear that his tweet has drawn the attention of a lot of Toon fans who are hoping to see Willems back at St. James’ Park.
