A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from Craig Hope that has relayed an injury update from Steve Bruce on Allan Saint-Maximin.
During Newcastle United’s 1-0 win over Blackburn Rovers in the Carabao Cup, the Frenchman went over and looked to have damaged his knee, but Bruce confirmed after the game that the 23-year-old should be fine.
This has drawn the attention of these Toon fans, who are baffled why Saint-Maximin was even risked.
Do you think Newcastle should have used Saint-Maximin?
No, needless risk
Yes, he can always change a game
Surely the big question is why he was on the field to start with. Bruce got away with one

Why risk him in first place…….

The 23-year-old came off the bench to replace Joelinton in the 73rd minute and looked to have injured himself while he was on the pitch, but Bruce seems to think he will be fine.
This could be good news for Newcastle considering that last season, in 26 Premier League games, he scored three goals and provided five assists, ranking third and first in those respective departments within the squad (as per Transfermarkt), so to lose him for any amount of time could leave the Toon with some problems.
However, despite Bruce claiming he is fine, these Newcastle fans think that the 23-year-old could be injured.
Steve will have him in early tomorrow to run it off

That’s him out for 14 months then ?

Then I am worried, he should never have been risked

Newcastle scraped through against Tony Mowbray’s men and had a debut goal from Ryan Fraser to thank for getting them to the next round of the Carabao Cup as Blackburn dominated possession and had more shots than Newcastle.
However, they did enough and are through to the next round, and if Saint-Maximin isn’t injured as Bruce claims, then Tuesday night’s result can be viewed as a success and they now look ahead to Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday.
