on Twitter have been responding to the latest news surrounding winger Patrick Roberts.

This comes after @scotsunsport shared a post on their page revealing news from their live blog (12.51 pm) that have now cooled their interest in signing the winger after the former Celtic loan star spent the last half of the 2019/20 season on a temporary deal at club.

Which player played the highest number of minutes in all competitions for Celtic in the 2019/20 season?

The page then asked their followers if they would take the Englishman back at Celtic or not.

This post then gathered a lot of responses from Celtic fans who were not shy in sharing their views on a potential return for Roberts.

Here’s a sample of Celtic fans responding to the post:

Roberts first joined Celtic on loan back in February 2016 from City until May 2017. A month later, he signed another loan deal with the Hoops that saw him continue at the club until August 2018.

Overall, the 23-year-old made 78 appearances for the Hoops in which he managed to score 18 goals and provide 26 assists along the way (per Transfermarkt).

Now that this question has been put to these Celtic fans, this gave them the opportunity to share their thoughts on the matter.

However, there were some Celtic fans responding to the post who were interested in seeing the winger make a return to the Hoops.

It appears that a majority of these Celtic fans don’t think the club should make a move to bring Roberts back to the club.

If Middlesbrough won’t take him back and if he isn’t guaranteed any regular game time at the Manchester club, the winger may then have to look for another club to move to, either on another loan deal or permanently.
