Supporters of Newcastle United have flocked to the club’s announcement regarding the signing of Callum Wilson from Bournemouth.
On Monday, the Toon announced that they had secured the services of the English striker from the Cherries.
In the report regarding the signing on the club’s website, it was revealed that Wilson had put pen to paper on a long-term deal that will keep him at St. James’ Park until 2024.
A report about Newcastle’s signing of the 28-year-old frontman by the BBC stated that the transfer fee was ‘about £20m’.

Wilson signed for Bournemouth in the summer of 2014 from Coventry City for a £3.33m fee (per Transfermarkt).
During his time with the Cherries, the frontman bagged an impressive 67 goals and 30 assists in 187 appearances.

During the most recent Premier League season, Wilson was in fairly uninspiring form for his former club as he delivered a weak 6.51/10 average match rating (per WhoScored).
In context, that would have left the striker as just the joint-16th-best performer in Steve Bruce’s squad in the league had he earned the same rating for the Toon.
