Supporters of Newcastle United have recently reacted to a report containing an interview with the Toon’s former chief scout, Graham Carr.
In the interview which was published by the Daily Mail, Carr ‘reveals all’ about subjects regarding Mike Ashley, Alan Pardew and Rafa Benitez, amongst others.
Yohan Cabaye, Hatem Ben Arfa, Cheick Tiote, Demba Ba, Papiss Cisse, Moussa Sissoko, Mathieu Debuchy and Georginio Wijnaldum are all players which are listed as having been scouted by the former club employee.
Later in the piece, the retired chief scout went on to claim that Ashley’s plan at Newcastle “hasn’t worked” but Carr still believes that he “meant well”.
This report was relayed to supporters on social media by NUFC 360 and it had lots of them talking.

“But if you’re shopping at Tesco, then you’re going to make more mistakes than if you’re shopping at Waitrose, aren’t you?” Sums it up.
For Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Perez and Ba alone he was amazing.

Carr went on to list Hakim Ziyech, Wilfred Ndidi, James Maddison, Raphael Varane and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as players that he scouted and could have been signed by the Toon.
This is why I’ll never get the MA is a great businessman argument he missed out on some of Europe’s top talent at low prices which could have propelled the club forward and made him huge profits on sales.

The amount of gems he found under MA.
Imagine if he was under a Man City style owner at that point…

The Daily Mail’s report goes on to explain that shortly after Benitez arrived in 2016, the Spanish manager wanted to ‘take control’ and, therefore, Carr left the club.
Newcastle’s former chief scout stated “it wasn’t nice” about the way he left the Toon and that “it was sad the way it turned out, especially when you love the club.”
Was it a mistake for Rafa Benitez to get rid of Graham Carr?
Yes, it was a mistake
No, was a good decision

Puts to bed all the myths Ashley doesn’t have an intrest or input Into signings ! he’s into everything and always has the final say

As can be seen in these responses from Newcastle supporters, evidently, they found what the retired scout had to say particularly interesting.
