Journalists Pete O’Rourke and Dean Jones discussed all the latest Premier League transfer news on a recent edition of The Rumour Review and during the show, they spent some time talking about the likelihood of Manchester United signing Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho during the current transfer window.

Though Borussia Dortmund’s sporting director Michael Zorc has declared that the German club are planning to keep hold of the English winger for the 2020/21 season back in August, recent reports suggest that the Red Devils have not given up their pursuit of the 20-year-old, with The Mirror reporting that United are set to submit a ‘final take-it-or-leave-it offer’ worth up to £90m for Sancho next week.

How well do you remember the action from the opening weekend of the Premier League? - 1. Who scored the first goal of the season?

Here is what Jones had to say about the likelihood that the £105.3m-rated attacker will make the move to Old Trafford despite Zorc’s comments back in August during this recent edition of The Rumour Review: “They are trying to get Jadon Sancho, and they’re just not happy with the terms that have been set out in front of them.

“United will make more signings, there’s not any doubt about that, they’re definitely going to have new faces in before [the] deadline. I can’t guarantee it’s going to be Jadon Sancho, but there is still a good chance it’s Jadon Sancho.

“[Ole Gunnar] Solskjaer’s been told that it can still happen – it’s not dead – but they are obviously looking at other options as well.”

Do you think it is likely that Manchester United will sign Sancho?

TIF Thoughts…

So, as can be seen in what the journalist had to say, it seems that while he’s not 100% sure that Sancho will be a Manchester United player by the end of the current transfer window, he does think that there is a possibility of the deal happening.

Considering that it has been claimed that signing Sancho is Manchester United’s ‘priority’ before the transfer window closes on 5th October, then we feel it would certainly be a blow for them to miss out on the player. So hopefully, for the Red Devils, Jones is right and this deal is “not dead” and they can come to an agreement with Dortmund for the player’s transfer.
