Duncan Castles has been speaking on the latest edition of The Transfer Window podcast and he has been talking about potential transfers for a lot of Premier League teams.
One of the sides that he spent some time discussing was Manchester United and, in particular, their pursuit of FC Porto’s Alex Telles.
It seems as if the Red Devils are refusing to meet Porto’s asking price of €20m (£18.09m), and both Juventus and Sevilla are interested in the 27-year-old, suggesting that Manchester United might have to act quickly if they want to sign Telles.
He said: “Although they will certainly not have to pay the €40m release clause, Porto have not been looking for that at any point, they had priced him at €25m, the pricing had come down to €20m.
“They say that the offer they’ve had from Manchester United is below that €20m figure and [Manchester United] are not prepared to pay.
“They are aware of interest from two other top European clubs. Sevilla are looking for a left-back having lost Sergio Reguilon.
“The other big club who have expressed an interest in Telles is Juventus, again a team who need a left-back.”

Telles, since moving to Porto from Galatasaray, has scored 26 goals and provided 56 assists, which for a player who mainly plays as a left-back is an impressive return.
Looking at these numbers, it is no wonder that the Red Devils face competition for the Brazilian, and you would think at just £18.09m, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side would be all over that.
However, as of yet, no fee has been agreed, and that could leave the door open for the likes of Juventus and Sevilla if they are interested.
So, it will be intriguing to see where Telles ends up before the close of the transfer window.
