This comes after Addison recently made an appearance on the Liverpool Echo’s Blood Red Podcast where he discussed the latest news topics concerning Jurgen Klopp’s side at the moment.

2018/19 season quiz: How many points did Jurgen Klopp's side accumulate in the Premier League?

After it was recently reported in Brazil that Liverpool were closing in on the signing of 17-year-old goalkeeper Marcelo Pitaluga from Fluminense, Addison had this to say on the matter.

He said: “It looks like the deal for Marcelo Pitaluga, that seems to be progressing; the talks seem to be going fairly well so it looks like the 17-year-old Brazilian will come in from Fluminense at some point soon.”

The teenage shot-stopper, who is currently valued at £90k, plays for the Fluminense U20 side and has yet to make a senior appearance for the club’s senior team, according to Transfermarkt.

TIF Thoughts…

Looking at what Addison says in the podcast, it appears that Pitaluga won’t be at Fluminense long enough to make his debut appearance for the Brazilian club as he looks to be on his way to Merseyside to link up with the Reds this summer.

However, given how Liverpool currently have Alisson Becker, Adrian, Loris Karius and Caoimhin Kelleher in their squad all remaining at the club, it would seem unlikely that Pitaluga would be seeing any first-team action for the Reds anytime soon.

Hopefully, Pitaluga will be able to progress and develop his game at the Merseyside club so he can have a better chance of getting some regular game time under his belt in the future.
