Fans of Leeds United have been reacting to a post on Twitter, in which Sky Sports reporter Tim Thornton relays the news that the club are in advanced talks to sign Diego Llorente from Real Sociedad.
The Athletic recently reported that Leeds are ‘edging close to a £20 million deal’ for Llorente, with the club’s director of football, Victor Orta, said to be ‘in talks with the La Liga side’ and that the club are ‘hoping to conclude a deal before the weekend’.
After Thornton relayed similar news on Twitter – stating that the club are in ‘advanced talks‘ to sign the defender – fans of Leeds flocked to have their say on the matter, with many stating what a good capture for the club they believe the 27-year-old would be.

Since joining Sociedad from Real Madrid in what was a £6.3 million deal back in 2017, Llorente has gone on to make 88 appearances for the club, chipping in with eight goals and two assists along the way.
Last season, the Spanish international featured 29 times in La Liga, scoring one goal and providing one assist, averaging a slightly underwhelming WhoScored match rating of 6.51/10 – ranking him as the club’s joint-16th-best player in the league.
However, in his one appearance in the league so far this term, a 1-1 draw with Real Valladolid, the £18 million-rated defender earned a much more impressive WhoScored match rating of 7.18.
Do you think Diego Llorente will be a starter for Leeds?
Yes
No
And it would seem that despite his slightly disappointing campaign in the 2019/20 La Liga season, many more Leeds fans are excited at the prospect of their club signing Llorente.
Rather him than Gvardiol tbh

All in all, it would seem these Leeds fans are delighted with their club’s links to Llorente and feel as if he would be a great addition to their current defensive options.
