Supporters of Leeds United have been reacting to quotes which emerged on social media regarding French striker Jean-Kevin Augustin.
On Wednesday afternoon, sports broadcaster Adam Pope relayed some quotes from RB Leipzig’s sporting director Markus Krösche regarding the attacker.
The quotes read: “There is a contract. Both parties in their right mind signed it and this contract applies. I hope our lawyers will solve the problem in the coming days.”
Pope also relayed further quotes from the sporting director, in which he stated: “This is also about a human being. JK is a great guy. I’m sorry for him.”
Lots of Leeds fans then flocked to this to air their thoughts on what Krösche had to say.

In January of this year, the Whites signed Augustin on loan until the end of the 2019/20 season (per BBC) and it was stated in the club’s announcement that they ‘hold the option to sign the player on a permanent basis’.
However, the Whites decided they no longer wanted the Frenchman despite there being a clause in the loan deal that required them to purchase him following promotion to the Premier League.
According to Bild, the fee for the deal was €21m (£19.2m) and the Whites claim that this clause expired on 1st July, which passed before promotion was confirmed.
Personally want him to come. It’s the right thing to do. The entire fan base and club were buzzing to get him and it’s a shame he hasn’t been fully fit as of yet.
Hopefully he comes and doesn’t resent the club too much because we’ve handled this poorly.

Get him signed, he needs to feel loved, it never happened at the time but if certainly welcome more attacking options ? I fear what we have up top right now may dry up as the season progresses

While on loan with Leeds, the 23-year-old attacker made three appearances in the Championship in which he neither scored nor assisted a goal (per WhoScored).
Should Leeds pay the money to sign Jean-Kevin Augustin?
No, he's not that good
Yes, he needs a chance
Part of me hopes we get him tbh #LUFC

As can be seen in these responses from Leeds fans, many believe the club should sign Augustin and some are even embarrassed by the Whites’ actions during the saga.
