Leeds United’s official Twitter account caught the attention of many Whites supporters recently after they posted a tweet sharing that 19-year-old Leeds forward Ryan Edmondson is joining Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen on loan until January.

This tweet included a link to an article from Leeds United’s official website which explains that while Edmondson ‘has been a regular’ for the Yorkshire-based club’s U23s for the past two seasons, he has made just ‘two first-team appearances for the Whites since joining the club in 2017 from York City.’

It may be fair to say that Aberdeen, who kick off their 2020/21 Scottish Premiership campaign against Rangers on Saturday 1st August, were heading into the season fairly light on attacking options with Sam Cosgrove and Curtis Main both sidelined due to injury at present. According to Transfermarkt, those injuries left The Dons with just one fit natural centre forward so it mightn’t come as a surprise that they have opted to bring in a new striker.

Plenty of Whites supporters replied to Leeds United’s tweet sharing this news.

Some Leeds fans shared that they believe Edmondson will do well at Aberdeen in response to this post.

Nice easy one to start off with, from which club did Leeds sign Hernandez?

Other Whites supporters replied to this post to share that they think this is a move that will benefit all parties involved.

Meanwhile, some Whites fans wished the forward luck and reminded him to make sure he returns to the Yorkshire-based club.

Will this loan move benefit all parties?

Considering that two of the three natural centre forwards that Aberdeen had available to them prior to this signing are out of action due to injury, it may be reasonable to assume that Edmondson will be able to gain some first-team experience from this loan spell and that may explain why these Whites fans seem quite positive about this loan move, considering that the 19-year-old has made just two senior appearances for the Whites in his young career.
