Leeds United fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest social media post regarding Brighton & Hove Albion defender Ben White.
This comes after football journalist Alan Nixon shared a post on his Twitter page claiming that Brighton manager Graham Potter wants to see White in training before he makes a decision on whether or not he wants to keep the centre-back in his squad for next season and “if he is worth the large contract needed to keep him” at Brighton.
This post from Nixon then gathered a lot of replies from Leeds fans who were quick to share their thoughts on this latest update surrounding the former Leeds loan star, who the Whites have reportedly had two bids rejected for by Brighton.
Here’s a sample of Leeds fans responding to the post:
Brighton. Leeds. Ben White saga latest … Potter wants to see him in training before deciding what part he plays this season … and if he is worth the large contract needed to keep him.

So he’s basically on trial at his own club after us having bids turned down for him, if I were him I’d say fine I’m sitting out my contract Ozil style then leave for nothing #lufc #bhafc

I think Potter sees him down the pecking order behind Dunk & Webster and I don’t think White will accept being a backup. I see him moving on unless somebody buys Dunk.

White spent last season on loan at Leeds where he made a total of 49 appearances for Marcelo Bielsa’s side, in which he managed to score one goal and provide two assists along the way (per Transfermarkt).
So they value him at £40m, but also don’t think he’s worth a large contract until they see him kick the ball about in training? Sounds like they’re engineering a scenario where they can sell with pride.

The 22-year-old’s performances in the 46 Championship appearances he made for the Whites during the 2019/20 season earned him a season rating of 7.09/10, making him their fifth-highest-rated player for the campaign (per WhoScored).
So Ben is back in training for Potter on Monday but his twitter bio still says Leeds …… wait till he turns up with his Champions 20 shirt on to let Potter know all he need to …. pic.twitter.com/zNrs5IN755

Do you think Ben White will stay at Brighton this summer?
Yes
No
Surely everyone knows it’s just a delay tactic. Potter knows Leeds need a CB soon. Delay a decision on White so #lufc are forced to get someone else and then the pressure is off handing White a massive contract until one of the bigger clubs come, if they even do at that price.

If true what an insult…’take a look at him in training’ to see if he’s worth it!! #lufc https://t.co/3lVdta9AAr

Genuinely embarrassing if true. Last year wasn’t enough to secure a first team spot in a struggling prem side, and a better contract. Unbelievable. #lufc https://t.co/e9PNecvIq4

Now that Nixon has shared this post on his page, this opened the door for a lot of Leeds fans to share their reactions to this latest update.
Really sends out the signals to white that he’s wanted at Brighton that doesn’t it?
Only a matter of time until he’s Leeds. Imo #lufc

In our view, it’s understandable why Potter would want to observe White in training for Brighton to see if he could potentially fit in with the team ahead of the upcoming Premier League season.
This says that Potter’s view on White, and some potential plans the manager may or may not have for the defender at Brighton, would be an important factor with regards to a potential move to Leeds this summer for the defender.
