Many Celtic fans have been fuming at the latest comments that Charlie Nicholas has made about the club’s French striker Odsonne Edouard.
Nicholas recently wrote a column for the Express (via Daily Record) and the column had some of his opinion about the situation of Edouard. He said that it will take a ‘sizeable fee’ for any club to sign Edouard this summer and he specifically talked about a fee of £25 million or £30million.
He said that he doesn’t ‘see’ Arsenal coming in for him, but he does see the likes of Everton, West Bromwich Albion, Leicester City or Leeds United making ‘making bids’ for the Frenchman.
A tweet involving Nicholas’ comments was relayed by the Daily Record recently. It caught the attention of many Celtic fans and they made their anger for Nicholas very clear.
Why do they keep asking someone who has 0 interest or knowledge in Scottish football for his opinion?

Should Celtic value Edouard at around £25 million?
Yes, that seems fair
No, he's worth more
Anyone actually listen to champagne charlie these days? ?

These Celtic fans don’t seem to rate Nicholas as a pundit and one of them feels that he has no ‘knowledge’ or ‘interest’ in Scottish football.
Some other Celtic fans also talked about this tweet and said that Celtic should demand a much higher fee for Edouard.
So a club in Scotland shells out 9 million and proves successful. With the epl awash with money they think they can get him on the cheap at 30 million.50 million at least.

Same guy said KT wasn’t worth 25 million and now all arsenal fans are saying they can’t believe they got him for that. Stick to tumbleweeds on soccer Saturday Charlie

I wish he’d stop talking. The market has changed dramatically…aye, that’s why havertz is looking at a 70m move and sancho a 106m move…do me a favour Charlie and stop talking

All in all, Celtic fans disagree with Nicholas’ opinion about the striker.
Edouard’s current value stands at £13.50 million and his value has actually increased from what it was in April. So Nicholas’ assessment of Celtic’s asking price for Edouard seems a bit valid and is closer to what his Transfermarkt value currently is as compared to how much fans value him at. So it will be interesting to see how much Celtic want for the Frenchman if someone does make an offer for him.
