Many Celtic fans have been talking about Mohamed Elyounoussi following the club’s 3-0 win over Motherwell recently.
A Celtic-related page called Celtic Underground recently posted about Elyounoussi and said that if the Hoops play a 3-5-2 shape going forward, what position could the Norwegian potentially play in. This came as a result of Celtic switching to a 3-5-2 shape in the game on Sunday against Motherwell.
When responding to the tweet about where Elyounoussi can potentially fit in, many Celtic fans made their opinion clear. Some believe that the Southampton loanee should not play if the Hoops do use a 3-5-2 shape.
I’d honestly drop him. We were a better team last season when he was injured and didn’t miss him at all. I don’t know why we re-signed him at all as he is slow and greedy.

Has Elyounoussi impressed you this season?
Yes, he's done well
No, he's been average
Where does it leave him ? . Simple if your not doing it then your out the team. Easy for me to say I’m not the Manager. We will leave it to Neil . ???

On the bench.

Hopefully on the bench. He’s not worth a starting position at the moment

Elyounoussi has played six times in all competitions this season and all his appearances have come when he has featured in the left-wing position for the Hoops. He has scored twice, picking up a single assist in all competitions (as per Transfermarkt).
While Celtic did switch to a 3-5-2 shape yesterday, they have started with a 4-2-3-1 formation in every game in the campaign so far (as per Transfermarkt).
Some other Celtic fans gave their opinion about how Elyounoussi could fit into a 3-5-2 system.
Out of the team and rightfully so. He’s too slow

Send him back to Southampton…keeping Celtic players out the team.

In the second half of the 2019/20 season, Celtic had used a 3-5-2 shape a lot of times in the league. Elyounoussi had played a few times during that period and had started one game in the centre-forward position.
That might be proof of the fact that he indeed can find a spot for himself in the 3-5-2 system and if Celtic switch to that shape again, the centre-forward spot might be where he ends up playing.
