Many Leeds United supporters have been reacting on Twitter to the news that Stuart McKinstry has signed a new contract with the club.

The 17-year-old’s new deal with the Elland Road club will see him remain with the Yorkshire giants until 2023 (as per leedsunited.com). McKinstry joined the Whites from the Scottish Premiership club Motherwell last year and has featured regularly with Leeds’ academy sides.

The club revealed the update via their official website and having shared the announcement on social media, here is how a sample of the supporters have responded.

It’s clear from the above responses that these fans were delighted to learn McKinstry has committed his future to the club. Last season, he scored two goals in seven appearances for the Under 23s after stepping up from the Under-18s.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side are currently preparing for their first Premier League campaign in 16 years, however, with the signing of McKinstry, it appears they are looking to ensure their recent success is prolonged further with this one, in our view, being very much a signing for the future.
