Celtic fans on Twitter have been criticising Hoops goalkeeper Scott Bain for his performance during their win over Hamilton Academical at the weekend.

This comes after the goalkeeper put in a disappointing display in the opening game of the 2020/21 Scottish Premiership campaign during the 5-1 win over Hamilton at Celtic Park.

Starting with an easy one- apart from Paris Saint-Germain, which other French club did Edouard play for?

After the match had ended, lots of Celtic fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on Bain’s performance in the match.

Here’s a sample of Celtic fans slating Bain:

The 28-year-old signed to Celtic on a free transfer from Dundee FC in the 2018 summer transfer window after completing a short-term loan deal at the Hoops from January 2018 (per Transfermarkt).

Overall, Bain has made a total of 47 appearances for Celtic, in which he has conceded 26 goals and managed to keep 28 clean sheets along the way.

However, Bain’s performance in the 5-1 win over Hamilton earned him a disappointing match rating of 6.3/10, making him the lowest-rated Celtic player that started the game (per WhoScored).

After the game had ended, this opened the door for lots of Celtic fans to log onto Twitter and share their thoughts and opinions on Bain’s performance in the win, particularly his futile efforts to stop the visitors’ only goal.

It’s a shame that so many Celtic fans have been criticising Bain on Twitter for his performance against Hamilton. However, his match rating suggests that he didn’t have a great game despite seeing his side take all three points.

The hope for Bain and these Celtic fans now will be that the shot-stopper can improve his game as they continue the new season.
