Many Celtic supporters have flocked to a tweet from @aboutceltic in which a report was relayed claiming the Scottish Premiership champions have made a bid for Roma’s Robin Olsen.

Mario Giunta of Sky Sport in Italy reported via his Twitter account that the Celtic are ‘pressing’ for the Sweden international. but at the moment, their bid is considered to be a ‘low’ one.

The 30-year-old goalkeeper made 17 appearances in Serie A last season, conceding 24 goals and keeping four clean sheets (as per Transfermarkt.co.uk).

Starting with an easy one - which club did Celtic sign Moussa Dembele from?

Olsen began his career at Malmo but has spent time in Greece with PAOK Salonika, in Denmark with FC Copenhagen and joined the Giallorossi in July 2018 for a reported £8.1m (via Transfermarkt.co.uk). At the start of last season, he joined Cagliari on loan, for whom he made all of his Serie A appearances during the 2019/20 campaign.

Here is how a sample of the Parkhead faithful responded to the reports via the social media platform.

Are you surprised to learn of the club's interest in potentially signing a second goalkeeper this summer?

It’s clear from the above responses that many of these supporters are surprised by the fact their club appear to be in the market for another goalkeeper having recently signed Vasilis Barkas from AEK Athens for a reported £4.5m (as per BBC Sport). Many fans continued to respond, with some sarcastically asking the question with regards to whether Olsen could play at centre-back or left-back if required.

This report appears to have come as a surprise to those who follow the Hoops. It will certainly be interesting to see whether or not this initial report develops into something more.
