Many Celtic fans have been fuming at Kris Boyd after a tweet involving him recently emerged on social media.

Celtic’s Boli Bolingoli recently broke quarantine rules and had taken a secret holiday in Spain. He had also featured for the Hoops in the Premiership game against Kilmarnock. This came after two Aberdeen players were tested positive and as many as eight of them had visited a bar. As a result, Celtic and Aberdeen have had their next two Premiership games postponed.

While talking to Sky Sports (via Daily Record), Boyd said that this situation is now down to SFA and SPFL “to deal with” and they would have to “fix it”.

A tweet about Boyd’s comments was relayed on Twitter by the Daily Record. Many Celtic fans flocked to the tweet and made their opinion about Boyd very clear. They mocked what he had to say about the issue.

Is Kris Boyd biased against Celtic?

Boyd had also said that First Minister Nicola Sturgeon ‘more or less threw it back to the SPFL and SFA’. He also believes that if the authorities don’t deal with the situation, Sturgeon will have to “step in”.

Some more Celtic fans mocked Boyd for what he had to say about this.

Clearly, Celtic fans don’t have a liking for Boyd and his comments about this situation. Boyd has past links with Celtic’s Old Firm rivals and played for them on two occasions in his playing career.

What Bolingoli and the Aberdeen players did was certainly wrong, especially considering how it has led to the matches getting postponed. Celtic are chasing an all-important tenth Premiership title in a row and this situation only brings unwanted trouble for them. Fans can only hope that the SFA and SPFL resolve this issue soon and the Hoops are back playing once again.
